Regardless of who you love or how you identify, Congresswoman Clarke is a strong supporter of LGBTQ rights. Since her time in office, she has supported legislation that encourages the celebration of the month of June as LGBTQ Pride Month, the EMPOWER Act which aims to deter, prevent, reduce, and respond to harassment in the workplace, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, and harassment based on protected categories, and the Equality Act which will prohibit discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity across education, housing and employment.
